Video editing

I've been filming myself working in the studio for some time now and my intention is to use it for a music video. The problem is that it takes SO MUCH TIME to get it right. I have so many recordings, both with and without singing and I'm feeling that I'm starting to lose my patience. If I move one clip, everything else ends up off sync. Gaaah! Maybe I should ask someone with a better patience to do it instead? ;)

Back in business

Hi everyone,

I know that I've been quiet lately, but that's about to change. Since my last update, I've been working on lots of new tracks and I've started working with new DJs and songwriters/producers. New tracks are going to be released this spring! :) I can't give you any details, but I can give you a hint:
-One of the songs is a collab with a French DJ and it will be released on Sexonwax records in April
-Another one of the songs is a collab with another French DJ and will hopefully be released in May.
-One song is my own and I'm in the process of figuring out where and when it will be released. The song itself is finished and mastered, but I'm working on a video and two remixes are being produced by great DJs as I write this. Hopefully, this song will be released in a month or two as well :)
I've got about 10 more tracks to release with different producers and DJs, but the release dates on those are not set yet. This means that you will be hearing a lot more from me! ;)
When I'm not working on tracks that I'm singing myself, I'm, i.e., working with a great songwriter in Stockholm. We're working very well together and have finished several tracks already that we're sending to labels and publishers.

Trying to survive on songwriting is easier said than done. I will make it though! I'm not the type who's giving up! ;)

Update March 2013

Hi everyone,

I must be the worst blogger ever! ;) I'm aware that it takes more than one blog post every three months to be considered a 'blogger'..haha..

Anyway, I've been busy working on lots of different projects with various DJs and I can reveal that I'm about to release many new songs in 2013. The first one, "Free Me", which is a collab between Lee Dagger of Bimbo Jones and me, will be available on iTunes in a couple of weeks. As soon as I know the date, I'll let you know! I hope that you will like it and share it with your friends on Facebook, Twitter etc.

There are so many accounts to maintain nowadays. Twitter, Reverbnation, Facebook, Ubetoo, Soundcloud, Instagram, my official website (which really needs a makeover) etc. etc. I should probably try focusing only on a few of them instead of trying to keep them all up to date.

Do you know any good web designers who can make a website look REALLY good? Don't hesitate to contact me if you do! I need a website which is easy to maintain and looks professional. I want it to be designed more like an artist page than it currently is.

Nya tag

Nu har jag varit sådär dålig på att blogga igen..Började jobba heltid igen och har haft upp med att hinna med mina vanliga vardagsbestyr tyvärr. Nu har jag dock bett om att få vara arbetsbefriad på fredagar, så att jag har tid till mina musikprojekt.

I fredags satt jag i studion i 11 timmar i sträck..Spräckte ett stort blodkärl i ögat (skitläskigt) på grund av detta tror jag. Som tur är ser man det bara när jag spärrar upp ögonen, vilket jag ska försöka undvika tills det har försvunnit :P

Creepy!

Jag är sjukt beroende av TV-serier. Det är nästan som ett missbruk. Filmer ser jag inte på så mycket längre, eftersom jag får lite separationsångest när de slutar redan efter typ 2 timmar. TV-serier har dock blivit lite som en typ av verklighetsflykt. Något bra har jag fått ut genom att plöja igenom alla serier. Jag lyssnar väldigt mycket på musiken i bakgrunden och tänker på hur den påverkar stämningen i serierna. Detta ger mig ofta inspiration till att skapa musik som jag skulle vilja ha i bakgrunden i serierna. Det var då jag skapade detta. Jag går in i ett transliknande tillstånd där tid och rum försvinner totalt. Jag glömmer att äta, dricka etc. och sitter bara helt i min egen värld tills låten är färdig. Även om det innebär spräckta blodkärl i ögonen :P

Good news

The future looks even brighter now :)

As I told you in the previous blog post, I wasn't really worried about the future, and it turns out that I was right about not worrying.  I just got a new flexible day job, which suits me perfectly and I'll be able to work from home if I need to.
Surviving solely on music isn't easy, so I'm happy that I found a job that I'll be able to combine with the music and at the same time be challenged intellectually.

This week, one of my collabs is going to promote our new single at the ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event). I'm keeping my fingers crossed! :D

I can see the light

It's so strange. Here I am, without a day job, and soon without a paycheck, but I still don't feel really worried. Should I worry? I know that I can get a job, but I also know that by getting a job I don't like, I'll be miserable and feel that my life has lost its meaning.

I feel free. But probably not for too long. I'll have to get a job eventually to survive until I can make a living on my music. I know that day is coming. The problem is that I don't know when. It's getting closer though..Wait and see!

I need a big change

Sometimes I get sick and tired of being different. Why can't I enjoy a "normal life" with a "normal job" doing "normal things"?
I don't want to work full-time with anything but music, because it makes me miserable. I don't even know how many times I've tried. Of course it's tempting making more money, but I don't care if I have money, when I'm only spending them on things to compensate for how bad I feel inside. I'd rather be poor and happy, than rich and miserable.

I have to figure out a way to survive without "normal" jobs. If you have any good tips, let me know!

Update

Ok...I know that I said that I would try to write in the blog as often as I can, but it was harder than I thought!

The past few weeks have been busy in many ways.

Music projects that I needed to finish, job interviews, and then...

...I got a new day job, which has taken way too much time and energy, but I guess it's more stressful in the beginning when you need to absorb all the new info.

I'm going to try to tell you more about what's going on in my life this weekend, but at the moment I'm so tired that I'll just need to rest :S

Wow

I'm finally done mixing and bouncing all the vocal files for a project that I've been working on for a couple of months now :)

Bouncing in real time sucks...

Now I've sent them to a guy i Australia who's going to do the mastering. When he's done, we'll just have to wait for the release :) Wohoo!

Tired

This week has been intense!

I've been trying to complete two songs, mixing vocals and got three new topline requests..

Last night I went out with some friends and I today I'm really tired :S We had fun though!:)

I have to continue mixing vocals in a bit..Don't know if I can trust my judgement today :P We'll see how it turns out!

Back in Sweden

I'm back in Malmö after a week on Öland and Norway. We had to catch an early flight from Norway this morning, and I was so tired when I got back home that I fell asleep on the sofa :S Getting up at 4 a.m. is not my cup of tea. I went to bed at 4 a.m. the day before, so my head and body were pretty messed up!

Today, I'm going to watch some movies and write some new lyrics for a house track I'm working on with a DJ. Just need some more coffee first! :)

Bored

I'm hanging out at a friend's place in Norway who's at work now. Tonight we're going to watch some kind of tribute show to Michael Jackson and then go out with old friends:) I'm starting to get a bit restless now though..

Vocals

Had to send some vocals to a DJ before the guests arrive. This song is going to rock when it's finished!:) We've been working on this track for a while now and I'm really looking forward to releasing it!:) I'm using Sprend.com to send the compressed folder, which normally takes a minute or two in Sweden, but the internet speed in the countryside of Norway really sucks...

Chillin'

I'm working on my tan and it's pretty boring to be honest! In a couple of hours we're going to have a barbecue with my husband's family, and after that we're meeting with a friend to have a couple of beers at "Tønsberg brygge" which is the harbour in Tønsberg:) Tønsberg is the oldest city of Norway and it's really beautiful in the summer!
It seems like we're going to stay at a hotel tonight:) I love hotel breakfasts so that's fine by me!
